ECB has developed the two formats of the game for the college sector.

Indoor 24

Indoor 24 is a fast-paced, no-barriers, six-a-side game that students can play quickly with their friends. There are no pads, gloves or helmets; everyone has to bowl and each innings last only 24 balls.It’s perfect for players of all ability, boys and girls can play together, and it’s very addictive.

Colleges are invited to set up intra-mural sessions and then progress to BCS Regional and National competitions.

Outdoor T20

Through BCS, we have also been able to launch an inter-college outdoor T20 Regional competition. We are encouraging participation from all colleges, but particularly those that don’t have access to cricket facilities, and have therefore felt excluded in the past.

Staffordshire Cricket will be able to link these colleges up with local clubs to use their facilities. To ensure maximum enjoyment from the game, ECB will provide two ACO qualified umpires for each match.

Formats have been allocated on a term-time basis as follows:

  • Autumn Term - Term One – Intra-College Indoor24
    Open to all FE Colleges – BCS affiliated and Non BCS affiliated
    Kit and volunteer training will be available.
  • Spring Term - Term Two – continuation of Intra-College and progression to Inter-College Indoor 24.
    Open to BCS affiliated colleges only for Inter-College competition - encouraging two separate themes (competitive and participation)


  • Summer Term - Term Three – BCS Outdoor T20 Competition
    Open to BCS affiliated colleges only
