2018 Awards Evening

2018 Awards Evening

Over 600 players, coaches, friends and family were in attendance to celebrate another fantastic season of county representative cricket at the County Showground, Stafford on Saturday November 10th.

The celebration, previously the end of year awards for Staffordshire Young Cricketers and the county age group teams, saw invitations extended to all of Staffordshire Cricket's county representative teams including county development sides for boys and girls, the Ability team, Visually Impaired team and the county women's team, the Staffordshire Strikers with a total of 24 teams and their successes recognised.

Former Staffordshire junior players who have gone on to land first class contracts with Warwickshire CCC, Alex Thomson, Liam Banks and Alex Mellor were on hand alongside current Staffordshire men's captain and Warwickshire performance coach Kadeer Ali and Staffordshire Women's captian and former Yorkshire Diamonds Super League player Stephanie Butler to present a huge array of awards to some of the best cricketing talent across the county.

"The awards have been a huge success and whilst the evening was longer than our previous celebration evenings, it is only right that we recognise the outstanding performances of those who play at county representative level under the Staffordshire Cricket banner " commented Perfromance and Pathway Manager, Bob Askey.

The awards, supported by the University of Wolverhampton and Fearnley Cricket, were made across 5 areas covering batting, bowling, fielding, coach and manager's categories as well as individual and team recognition for on-field excellence during a very busy summer.
