Core Cities Role - Sandwell

We’re recruiting….

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Staffordshire Cricket Ltd, the county cricket board, in the role of Community Cricket Development Officer for Sandwell.

Staffordshire Cricket is working with the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to deliver the Core Cities Plan and to better understand how communities in Sandwell, that have a heritage and history connected to the South Asian countries of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh amongst others who wish to watch, play, coach and officiate in cricket. This post will be to help develop that understanding and devise, support and measure activity to grow the game across Sandwell.

Applicants need a sound knowledge and understanding of diverse communities and cultures and recreational cricket; a commitment to increase player retention and participation at all levels; proven managerial and administrative / reporting competencies; together with excellent communication skills. Knowledge and experience of cricket would be advantage but the role is not a coaching one.

The successful applicant will be employed by Staffordshire Cricket Ltd and will focus community development opportunities primarily across the South Asian communities within Sandwell, identifying and working with key local partners to help deliver Staffordshire Cricket’s Core Cities Plan.

The post is full-time, working predominantly within the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell with access to office facilities at Staffordshire Cricket offices in Stafford. A full current UK driving license is required. The job description for the post can be downloaded from below.
