u15s Girls Finish 4th in Nationals

County u15 Girls 4th in Country

Staffordshire's u15 County Girls  came up agiainst some strong opposition as they competed in the ECB Royal London u15 National Finals Day. The girls qualified for finals day after topping their group, winning 7 of their 10 games in the season.

Unfortunaltely defeats against Sussex by 97 runs in the semi-final and then Hampshire by 82 runs in the 3rd/4th place play-off meant te girls fininshed a highly-creditable 4th in a national competition.

Things may have been different but for a freak fielding injury for Staffs' Liv Chorlton who fractured her hip whilst diving to retrieve the ball during the Susses semi-final game at Grantham CC.

Former England Women's captain, Charlotte Edwards, was in attendance at the finals and - whilst a little squeamish of Liv's injury - agreed to be part of the probably our most bizarre team pic of the season!

Well done girls and we wish Liv a speedy recovery.
