Performance Awards for May supported by The University of Wolverhampton and Fearnley CricketThis season we have introduced two performance of the month awards for outstanding personal displays with bat and/or ball across the male and female representative teams.
In association with The University of Wolverhampton and Fearnley Cricket, we are delighted to announce May's winners to be Davina Perrin (U11 Girls) and Sarkib Din (Ability XI).
Davina (below left), who plays her club cricket at Fordhouses and J&G Meakins, is recognised for a blistering 121 not out in the Girls' u11s 146-run win over Worcestershire Girls u13s on 28th May at Droitwich CC. Her fantastic 71-ball innings included eighteen fours and two sixes as the Staffs girls compiled an impressive 216 bfor 4 off their 25overs.
Sarkib (below right), of Wedgwood CC, has featured in may of the Staffordshire Ability XI's games in the ECB Super 9s competition. His award is for his outstanding performance with bat and ball in the 5-wicket victory over Yorkshire on Sunday 20th May at Swynnerton CC. The rules of the super 9s state that players must 'retire' once they have taken 3 wickets or compiled 50 runs and Sarkib did both in an impressive victory.
Congratulations to both players!
