Fordhouses take this year's title in the Over 45 Master's Comp

Finals day took place on Sunday 24th September 2017 at Milford Hall CC were the veterans from Church Eaton, Wolverhampton, Fordhouses, and Caverswall had qualified and were prepared to do battle. The smell of Ralgex wafted through the air as the teams began their gentle warm ups. A massive thank you to our partners Marston’s Brewery for providing the liquid refreshments and other goodies for our finalists.
In the first semi Final Church Eaton batted first against Wolverhampton, scoring 43 for 4 losing to Wolverhampton who scored 73 for 2
In the second game Fordhouses defeated Caverswall 70 for 0 played 74 for 6 which set up a final for last year’s champions v Wolverhampton.
Wolverhampton batted first scoring 69 for 5 Fordhouses replying with 74 for 0 meaning they defended their title.
We had 15 teams competing in the competition split into 4 groups:
Caverswall, Wedgwood, Meir Heath, Checkley and Stafford.
Wolverhampton, Springhill and Smethwick.
Cannock, Penkridge and Church Eaton.
Fordhouses, Enville, Swindon and Wightwick and Finchfield
All teams enjoy this format of the game it brings together old friends and opponents, lapsed players, some who haven’t seen each other for a number of years.
We would like to thank our Partners Marston’s Brewery for providing the prizes and our hosts Milford Hall CC and their volunteers for providing us with a great venue to play Cricket.
