Women Impacting Cricket
Staffordshire's Karen Coleman, Yvonne Tweddle and Danni Wyatt-Hodge are amongst 53 women named by the ECB in their list of women having an impact on cricket in England and Wales. On the eve of the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup in England in Wales, the list marks 53 years since England hosted the inaugural Women's World Cup in 1973 which incidentally also owes much to Wolverhampton-born cricket legend Baroness Rachel Heyhoe Flint and Wolverhampton Business backer Sir Jack Hayward for its inception.The ECB has has unveiled 53 purple seats at Edgbaston ahead of the first ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match on Friday 12th June each individually featuring those named in the list.Karen, from Endon CC, recently won the both the Staffordshire and national MetroBank Champion of Girls' Cricket Award.
Yvonne, Chair of the House and Ground Committee at Kings Bromley CC, headed up the team which received our Tackling Climate Change Award at the 2025 Cricket Collective Awards.
Danni, Whitmore CC and Meir Heath CC, has played over 300 international games and her 11-year Staffordshire career saw her play 164 games, scoring 4580 runs and taking 191 wickets.
